Expert Junior Cricket Coaching based in Berkshire & Pembrokeshire

The Cricket Edge offers a unique 3 day cricket coaching course for junior players – designed to boost the confidence and performance of players of all ages and abilities.

New to our service for this year, we will be offering the players who participate the chance to upload pictures/clips of themselves playing to our Facebook group. We will then look at it and give feedback and coaching tips so that we are offering a year round mentoring service. In addition, players will be able to ask questions and get tips via the websites Blog and the Facebook group, YouTube channel and via Twitter.

What we offer

A team of advanced cricket coaches lead a distinctive coaching program that is adapted to the needs of the individual. Experienced juniors will be encouraged to “play like the professionals” and beginners will learn all they need to play competitive junior cricket.

Catering for cricketers of all ages and experience, the coaching given is specific to the needs of the player. Whether that be the basics needed to start playing cricket at club level or for those wishing to represent Pembrokeshire or the Welsh junior sides. Players will work in small groups of similar ability to help their development.

Players will be coached in all areas of cricket as well as being taught some of the finer details of tactics and techniques that will allow them to have a greater understanding of the game. At The Cricket Edge, we believe providing junior players with knowledge of the game is extremely important to allow them to continue to progress.

All players will be encouraged and shown how to 'play like the professionals' and move their game to the next level. We explain the techniques behind modern aspects of the game as seen in T20 and the IPL and show juniors what they can take from these exciting forms of cricket. This includes delivering a perfect slower ball, switch hitting and how best to beat the infield.

How we use the latest cricket coaching technology

The Cricket Edge offers a course designed to improve the performance of young players of all abilities - utilising the latest equipment and ideas.

The Cricket Edge utilises the latest coaching equipment to provide the best possible practice. This includes the use of a bowling machine, video analysis and a variety of aids designed to replicate game situations in practice.

The action packed three day format allows a unique focus to be put on each individual with careful target setting and monitoring of their progress. Our advanced coaches will work closely with small groups to deliver the course and develop each players game. Players will be shown how to analyse technique to continue to improve when the course is over.

Each player will be given a full report listing strengths and weaknesses in each of the key areas of the game at the end of the course.

Our expert cricket coaches and where to find us

The course is delivered by three advanced level cricket coaches with broad experience as coaches and as teachers.

Currently, we run courses in Neyland, Pembrokeshire and Ascot, Berkshire. Players can be dropped off from 8.30am and will be looked after until 5.15pm. Special provision may be available if required.
